Time of the Angelus

We invite you to use these resources to deepen your own spiritual life, drawing inspiration from the faith that so richly informed J.R.R. Tolkien’s world. May our collective prayers bear fruit in our lives and in the world.

The Angelus prayer is traditionally prayed three times a day: at 6:00 a.m., noon, and 6:00 p.m. These times correspond to the traditional monastic prayer times and are often marked by the ringing of church bells.
Details:
Morning (6:00 a.m.): The Angelus is a prayer of remembrance of the Incarnation, when God became man through Mary.
Noon: The Angelus is prayed at midday, often accompanied by the ringing of the Angelus bell.
Evening (6:00 p.m.): The Angelus concludes the day with a prayer of reflection on the Incarnation and the mystery of God’s love.
During the Easter season, the Angelus is replaced by the Regina Coeli prayer.
